BOOKS & PUBLICATIONS

Square Brand. Final Fantasy IV 設定資教編 (Establishment Data Compilation)
Japan, NTT Publishing Co. Ltd., 1991.
ISBN: 4-87188-128-8

This book is often casually referred to by Final Fantasy IV cognoscenti as the "SSH" or "SSS" from the Japanese transliteration of the Kanji (which is either "Settei Shiryou Hen" or "Settei Shiryou Shuu"). As the name of the book's translation implies it contains a great deal of back story data. Some other valid translations of the name have been "Settings Guide" or "Creation Materials Book". As such, it is generally regarded as the original canon of Final Fantasy IV outside the original game itself. Much of the site data is taken from translations of this book. It also contains a great deal of original concept artwork.
